Carmel Wetland Project
Service: Habitat Restoration
AMS led a team assessing the feasibility of using recycled wastewater to construct a wetland to supplement dry season flows for fish and wildlife habitat. The first phase compared concentrations of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in wastewater to those in the fish habitat. The second phase tested the partitioning of nutrients and POPs from wastewater between sediment and water phases in determining concentrations that can potentially impact the fish habitat.
