Pacific Marine Farms CEQA
AMS, as a key member of the project team lead by Leonard Charles and Associates, was selected by the City of Fort Bragg, CA, to prepare the CEQA ER and requisite supporting scientific baseline studies for the Pacific Marine Farms (PMF) aquaculture facility. The City was acting as the Lead Agency for the project’s approval in cooperation with local, state, and federal agencies. The proposed mariculture facility had the potential to be the largest aquaculture facility in the state with the capability to culture salmon, shrimp, and abalone. In support of the ER preparation, AMS conducted site-specific intertidal and subtidal biological assessments of the marine habitat and biota adjacent to the facility’s proposed location, prepared the baseline marine resources, project impact and impact mitigation sections of the ER, and assisted in identifying project related state and local permit requirements and interfacing with state and federal resource agencies.
