Mine Berg and Sara Driscoll’s 2017 publication, Variation in growth rate, carbon assimilation, and photosynthesis efficiency in response to nitrogen source and concentration in phytoplankton isolated from upper San Francisco Bay, was the top downloaded article in 2017-2018 and one of the top 20 most read papers from the peer-reviewed Journal of Phycology. Amongst articles published between January 2017 and December 2018, this paper received some of the most downloads in the 12 months following online publication. The publication generated immediate impact and visibility, contributing significantly to research on ammonia in San Francisco Bay.
