Kashagan Oil and Gas Field Environmental Review

Service: Environmental Program Management

AMS, in conjunction with its subcontractors, Mariposa Environmental and Reese-Chambers Systems Consultants, provided expert environmental impact review and assessment support to AGIP-KCO in their development of the Kashagan Field oil and gas Experimental Program in the North Caspian Sea region of Kazakhstan. The project team, headed by AMS, reviewed all environmental impact assessment documents prepared by other Kazakh and western environmental consultants, provided technical guidance in the design and operation of project equipment, including desalination and waste water treatment facilities. AMS independently assessed project impacts to the terrestrial and marine environment from the construction operation and abandonment of this 30-year project. The team ensured that all environmental documents complied with international regulations and guidelines as well as environmental regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
