Offshore Wind

Development of offshore wind energy is coming to the coastal waters of California, Oregon, and Washington and is expected to play a crucial role in power generation for the Western U.S. over the next several decades. AMS’ team of aquatic scientists and engineers has over 30 years of expertise in supporting all aspects of planning, design, environmental review, permitting, mitigation monitoring, and decommissioning associated with offshore infrastructure projects. For this reason, AMS is known as one of the pre-eminent firms providing marine consulting services along the West Coast and a leader in alternative energy development projects. In addition to working on behalf of industrial clients, AMS’ reputation for conducting objective basic and applied research has allowed us to work directly for regulatory agencies who are likely to be involved in offshore wind development, assisting in the navigation of agency approvals to expedite projects. Additionally, AMS’ long-standing collaborations with agency and academic researchers allows us to expand our capabilities to address a wide variety of potential environmental concerns specific to the offshore wind arena (e.g., effects of sound, vibration, EMF).
