AMS Provides Comprehensive Ecological Assessments to Track Ecosystem Behavior and Mitigate Anthropogenic Impacts
Ecological assessments are essential for tracking ecosystem behavior, determining the magnitude of anthropogenic impacts and disturbances, assessing the performance of strategies for mitigating the effects of particular projects, and for documenting restoration efforts. AMS designs and implement studies across a wide variety of environments, utilizing the most effective assessment tools for each.

Marine Habitat Analysis for Link21
Link21 is a transportation program sponsored by the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) and the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) to transform the passenger rail network serving the greater San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Bay area, the Sacramento area, and the Northern San Joaquin Valley. AMS is providing marine habitat services to help assess potential impacts associated with infrastructure alternatives under consideration.
Biological Assessment of a Fiber Optic Cable Route
AMS scientists conducted an ROV based characterization of seafloor habitats and associated marine biota along a 14 km segment of a proposed, new fiber optic telecommunication cable linking Southeast Asia and the US.

Investigations into Causes of Mortality in Southern Sea Otters
For this Proposition 13 Grant study, AMS assessed the link between organic pollutant concentrations and mortality due to infectious diseases, in the federally endangered southern sea otter population in Monterey Bay, California.
Longfin Smelt Monitoring
AMS implemented longfin smelt monitoring activities according to protocols approved by CDFW associated with navigational dredging operations conducted within North San Francisco Bay by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
