AMS has been instrumental in the siting, permitting and installation of trans-Pacific fiber optic cable landings into California since 1999. AMS has prepared marine habitat and resources documents in support of CEQA assessments, conducted SCUBA diver and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) surveys of cable corridors for sensitive habitats and species, monitored for the State of California the Horizontally Directionally Drilled Cable (HDD) landings for 32 of the 37 fiber optic cables entering the State during this time, provided marine mammal observers for cable installation across the continental shelf, and provided site selection and installation scheduling consultation to cable installers and operators in the early planning stages of many of these cable installations.
